ERT employees receive supporting messages from the Greek Air Force Federation (OSPA). The former employees of Olympic Airways support them with their experience as fired employees for 3 years now, in order to carry on with their fight.
They say distinctively: «If the problems of the branch or the company are not solved, we cannot leave our previous working places. We also shouldn’t trust any government or other factors that only wish to gain power.» A law was created for them, but it was changed ten months after their firing.
They invite the ERT employees to protect their interests. They urge them to stay united to the end, so that every fired employee will claim what he deserves. If they start giving up, many other branches will follow this unwanted path.
The discussion of the Bill concerning NERIT will be completed in the next two parliamentary sessions that will take place by the end of the week. Until then, the proposal of SYRIZA- Coalition of Radical Left- concerning the establishing of a committee of inquiry for ERT will be also discussed.
The lawyer George Kokkas, member of the legal service of ERT, appealed to the Supreme Administrative Court of Greece having at least 12 firm legal arguments included in his portfolio that prove the recent governmental decisions for ERT to be illegal and opposite to the Constitution.
In view of the discussion and voting of the bill, the Civil Servants’ Confederation, ADEDY, is planning a new rally and the «encirclement» of the building of the Hellenic Parliament today at 8 p.m. at Syntagma Square. Then a concert with the participation of known volunteer artists will take place. On Tuesday the General Confederation of Greek Workers, GSEE, and ADEDY has called a 24-hour strike and gathering at Klathomonos Square with the participation of the Federation of Bank Employee union of Greece OTOE. The Pan-Hellenic Federation of Journalists’ Union POESY will participate in the strike with a 24-hour work stoppage to all media except ERT.
The Hellenic Railways Organisation (OSE) announced changes to its schedule starting from tomorrow evening due to the participation of its employees in Tuesday’s lined up strike.
Mobilizations are scheduled in the field of Health. Physicians and employees of public hospitals, the National Centre for Emergency Care EKAB and the sectors of Social Welfare will go on 24-hour strikes on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Protests are scheduled upon the arrival of the german minister of finance Wolfgang Schauble in Athens on the 18th of July.
Lists naming 2.500 teachers who will be suspended will have been sent until this afternoon at 6 ‘o clock to the Ministry of Education by Secondary’s Education Management.Greek Federation ofSecondary State School Teachers (OLME) expressed its strong opposition and pointed out that the ministry moves on to law enforcement before its passing from the Parliament.»Those refusing to move to new positions according to mobility context will be dismissed» warns through Realnews newspaper Interior Minister mr.Yiannis Michelakis.
The 67th Motorcycle ride of the Indignant Motorcyclists will take place on Tuesday supporting this way the general Panhellenic strike which will be held on the same day by the General Confederation of Greek Workers-GSEE and Civil Servants’ Confederation- ADEDY. The strikers will protest against the collective dismissals, the dissolution of public organizations and the unfair infringement of labour rights. The meeting point of the motorcyclists is the parking lot of the Peace and Friendship Stadium and their ride will start at 20:00 pm having as its final stop the Greek parliament where the contentious bill is planned to be discussed at the time.
